Beverley Folk Festival are excited to announce that three of the acts that they have booked to perform at this year’s festival in June have been nominated for awards at the 2016 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.
Gilmore and Roberts, are nominees for the ‘Best Duo’ category. Nominated in the same category in 2013, this year must be their year! Katriona Gilmore & Jamie Roberts, combine astounding lap-tapping guitar, fiery fiddle and their trademark harmonies with considerable songwriting talent to make a truly distinctive sound.
The Young’uns, winners of last years ‘Best Group’ are nominated for the same award again this year. In 2015 this trio of Cooney, Eagle & Hughes won an impressive array of awards and in 2016 with this nomination they show no signs of stopping their success train.

Sam Carter is the Festival’s final nominee in the much anticipated Best Album Awards for ‘Salvor’ with his band ‘False Lights’ .

The awards, now in their 17th year, will be presented live by Drivetime presenter Simon Mayo from the Royal Albert Hall at 7.15pm on 27th April.
