TOUR DE YORKSHIRE : Disruption to Bus Services During The Race

Bus Company Offer Half Price Tickets Over Festive Period

On Friday 29 April the Tour de Yorkshire starts in Beverley and during the race there will be disruption to bus services in Beverley.

In a statement released a spokesperson for EYMS said;

“We expect buses into Beverley to be busier than normal as people travel to see the start of the race, so we advise people may want to allow extra time for their journey in travelling on buses into Beverley.”

“Some services in the Beverley area may be delayed due to rolling road closures for the cyclists, but the only buses we should have to divert are the ones listed.”

“The cyclists taking part in the Tour de Yorkshire go through Market Weighton and along part of the Service 18 route, so buses in this area may get caught by the rolling road closures, causing delays.”

“However, we do not expect to have to divert any buses in this area.”

  1. There will be plenty more ‘disruptions’ apart from the bus service, delivery vans from outside the area will wonder what is happening, closed car parks and long strips of CPZ zones will cause a number of problems and anyone who wants to see the bikes acxtually racing will have to go outside Beverley.
    I am sure that it is all worth while although TV coverage does not begin until the exact time that the cycleists set off from Market Place, so no boost for bev. there.
    Is there a way of finding the cost of all this?
