2014 Duke Road Race Rankings champion James Cowton, secured series of high quality results at the 2016 KDM Hire Cookstown 100.
Following solid performances in qualifying, day two of competition around the Orritor circuit, saw the supersport invitational race, open the days action.
James would go onto finish a highly creditable fifth, whilst the open superbike race, would see him
lead the supersport 600 challenge, finishing in ninth place.
The feature supersport race was next up, and James was embroiled in a five rider dice for victory. In the end he finished fourth, following another highly accomplished performance, on Cowton Racing by Radcliffe’s CBR 600 Honda.
Onto the super twins race, which would prove the undoubted highlight of the meeting, for the rider tipped by many to be in contention for privateers championship success at TT 2016.
In what was arguably the best race of the meet, James battled his way through to an excellent second place finish, along the way setting the fastest lap of the race, on the Cowton Racing by Radcliffe’s ER6 Kawasaki.
The days racing finished, with ninth in the grand final, as in the open superbike race, James finished leading supersport 600 competitor.
Coming up next on the roads for the Kilham based rider, is the Vauxhall International North West 200, where in 2014 he clinched two third place finishes in the super twin races.
He’s this year entered across all classes, as he bids to make a significant impression around the Triangle.
