Beverley Town Cricket Club have slipped a place in the Hunters York & District Senior Cricket League Holderness Division 2 after they were beaten at the Norwood Recreation Ground.
Beverley’s thirds fielded a strong side against Cottingham, but after being put into bat first they managed just 129 runs as they were dismissed within the allotted overs.
James Bruce was the pick of the batters for Beverley as he scored a credible 36 but the lack of runs scored by Beverley was to prove their undoing.
In reply Cottingham reached the required 130 for the loss of just one wicket needing just 21 overs to secure all thirty points.
Next weekend the thirds will hit the road as they face Welton & Brough who are currently just 14 points ahead of Beverley in the league.
