As Wimbledon gets underway the strawberries and cream will be flowing over the coming weeks with one council run day centre getting in on the act to support their welfare fund.
Millers Day Centre, in Beverley will host a strawberry cream tea on Tuesday 5 July, 1-3pm.
The event, which last year raised over £300 for the day centre’s welfare fund, will offer home-made scones and light refreshments.
Also on sale on the day will be a selection of plants and flowers grown at the day centre’s roof top garden.
Councillor Richard Harrap, council portfolio holder for adult and carer services, said:
“The Strawberry cream tea event at Millers is always a popular and well supported event.
“I would encourage anyone looking to enjoy a lovely cream tea tea while showing their support for those who attend day services in Beverley to go along on the afternoon.”
