Beverley Beat Sewerby To Climb Three Places in the League

Greg Whyley and Peter Parnaby bagged three wickets each as Beverley Town Cricket Club second string beat Sewerby to climb the table.

Sewerby won the toss and elected to field at the Norwood Recreation Ground on a perfect day for cricket.

Beverley’s Ian Pratt top scored has he chipped with an unbeaten 63 with Beverley setting their opponents a target of 186 to win.

Sewerby never really got close to Beverley lasting 46 and posting just 136 in reply as Whyley finished with 3-23 and Parnaby with 3-22.

Victory means Beverley shot up three places in the Hunters York & District Senior League Division One table as they made it three wins from three games.

Next weekend Beverley Town Cricket Club’s second team will hit the road for a match against Folkton & Flixton who are just two places above them in the league.

Currently in good form should Beverley get another win and claim maximum points and if other results go their way could see them climb even higher up the table.

Beverley Town II beat Sewerby by 49 runs
T Hudson 26, I Pratt 63*
P Parnaby 3-22, G Whyley 3-23
