With a highly successful seven months under its cinematic belt, the next stage is happening in Parkway’s evolution with introduction of its first season of live entertainment on the stage of the Hayward Theatre.
The Hayward, which is also doubles as Screen 6 in the cinema complex, is bringing a variety of world class acts throughout the darker nights and culminating in the first Parkway Beverley Panto. (Oh yes it is!)
If a chuckle is what you need, you can enjoy a visit from the star of his own radio 4 comedy show “It’s a Fair Cop” Alfie Moore with his new show Getting Away with Murder as well as an evening of comedy variety from the Giggles Live crew with Sunday Night at the Beverley Parkway.
The joys and perils of love at “a certain age” through the music of Rogers & Hammerstein, Ivor Novello and Noel Coward amongst many others feature in our afternoon concert Late Loves. Performed by former “Phantom of the Opera” cast members Barry Clark and Janet Cowley accompanied by pianist Gordon Balmforth.
On a different note, the Beverley Blues Weekender presents its headliner act Tom Attah and the Bad Man Clan delivering a night of driving, rocking, delicate and relevant music that proves the power of the blues is still alive.
Children are not forgotten with two visits from Talegate Theatre with two productions based on Nicholas Allan’s beloved books. The Giant’s Loo Roll promises the biggest Loo Roll in person while Father Christmas Needs a Wee brings the festive sparkle and unique dilemma for Santa.
Capping it all off is the first in what we hope will become a Beverley Christmas tradition with this year’s Parkway Panto Aladdin. A fantastic cast brings the family fun headed by Joe Maw (from CBBC’s Tracey Beaker Returns and The Dumping Ground) as Whishy Washy.
“I am delighted to bring a fantastic theatre programme to complement our successful cinema” says Cliff Baillie, General Manager of the Beverley Parkway Cinema and Theatre. “I hope this is just the first great season of entertainment we can bring to the East Riding”.
