Open Day To Showcase Community Supported Agriculture

Open Day To Showcase Community Supported Agriculture

Leconfield Grange Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) based in Leconfield are having an open afternoon on Sunday 9 October at 2PM as part of the national CSA open day event.

Community Supported Agriculture is a new and developing way of producing food with consumers and farmers being partners in a project.

Everyone is welcome to come along to the open day and take the chance to visit the smallholding, see how the animals are kept and find out about the way Community Supported Agriculture is changing the way many people buy their food.

As a member of a Community Supported Agriculture Project people are more than just a consumer of what the farmer produces.

Members are a partner with that farmer, not working there on a daily basis, but being involved with decision makings, having opportunities to visit the farm and sharing the risks and benefits of the project with the farmer.

This type of farming allows people to be much more involved in where their food comes from and enables consumers to be confident in their food and to play a part in its production.

Leconfield Grange CSA is now in its second year and is one of the few Community Supported Agriculture projects raising meat.

If you are interested in high welfare, high quality meat and a local community based approached then come down and find out what it is all about.

The event will take place at Grange Road, Leconfield, Beverley, HU17 7NG between 2PM and 4PM on Sunday 9 October.
