Award-winning saxophonist and composer Tom Thorp returns to the East Riding on Thursday 13 October at the Toll Gavel United Church, Beverley, at 7.30pm.
The concert follows Tom’s highly acclaimed performance with his jazz chamber group The Taka Ensemble at Howden Minster in June.
Joined by internationally renowned piano accompanist, Martyn Parkes, Tom will present an evening of music from the extensive and fascinating classical saxophone repertoire.
It will feature some visits to the great composers of the past, along with some of the modern classics written for saxophone and piano.
The concert will feature works from as diverse a palette as J S Bach to Ravel, Debussy and Glazunov, with modern works by British Composer’s Award winner Andy Scott and fiery Japanese innovator Yoshimatsu.
