Brave Beverley Residents Needed For Fancy Dress Abseil

Brave Beverley Residents Needed For Fancy Dress Abseil

Join the British Red Cross for the most frightfully fantastic fancy dress abseil around on Sunday 30th October.

What better way to celebrate Halloween this year than to abseil down the Owen Building in Sheffield City Centre dressed as anything from zombies to superheroes to minions?

‘What If?’ by Poet Laureate Sir Andrew Motion covers the side of the 120ft / 37m drop and has made this building a landmark in Sheffield city centre, as well as in Yorkshire.

There will be prizes for the Best Fancy Dress, Best Fundraiser and the University with the most sign-ups, so sign-up now for one of the most blood draining experiences of the season!

Rachel Beresford, Community Fundraiser for the Red Cross in Yorkshire said:

“People have so much fun doing this abseil that we’ve decided to hold it for a fifth year running to give more people the opportunity to abseil down one of Sheffield’s most iconic buildings.

Even if you’re not feeling too brave right now, it’s such a feeling of pride once you’ve reached the ground that you will probably want to go back up and do it all over again!”

The sponsorship money raised by participants helps people whose lives have been torn apart by crisis and disasters both in Yorkshire and overseas.

Everyone is welcome, you don’t need any experience beforehand; all you need is the courage and drive to want to help others. Our trained team are some of the most experienced people in the UK and will always ensure your safety throughout.

Registration to the event is now open and it only costs £10 to sign up. We challenge you to raise £100 sponsorship and our team of fundraisers will help you every step of the way to raise as much money as you possibly can.
