Fashion-conscious health and beauty retailer Superdrug opened its second store in Beverley, stocking the latest cosmetic and wellbeing must-haves.
Creating 10 jobs, the new 4,000 sq ft store offers a wide range of exclusive products, award-winning cosmetics, gifts and daily essentials as well as boasting a drop-in brow and lash bar.
The new store is in addition to Superdrug’s other location in Toll Gavel, Beverley, and will stock brands such as Makeup Revolution, B. and L’Oreal. Shoppers can also benefit from click and collect enabling customers to place an order online at Superdrug.com and pick up their purchases at either of the Beverley stores, taking advantage of a wealth of online exclusives and special offers.
Jen Sutton, Superdrug’s Flemingate Store Manager, said:
“We’re excited to open a new store at Flemingate. It’s such a vibrant area of Beverley with a good selection of shops, cafés and restaurants. We think Superdrug will be an excellent addition to the centre and we look forward to welcoming customers to the new store.”
The opening of Superdrug comes hot on the heels of the recent opening at Flemingate of fashion store Outfit, which brings together leading high street brands, including Topshop, Topman, Dorothy Perkins, Wallis, Miss Selfridge and Burton.
Outfit and Superdrug join River Island, Peacocks and Baytree Interiors, all of which have opened at Flemingate in the past few weeks, totalling 37,000 sq ft of new retail lettings. In addition, Gourmet Burger Kitchen and local independent brand, Riva Lounge, have added to Flemingate’s dining options, with coffee house brand leader Starbucks also due to open at Flemingate on October 27.
Graham Tait, Flemingate Centre Manager, said: “With all the recent exciting openings we can now offer a tremendous shopping and leisure experience to our customers, with a host of leading shopping brands and a variety of eating and drinking options.
“We’re always keen to welcome people to the centre and the opening of Superdrug so soon after Outfit means now is a great time to enjoy all that Flemingate has to offer.”
The second largest health and beauty retailer in the UK, Superdrug has more than 800 stores and employs 12,500 staff.
David Donkin, Property Director of Wykeland Group, developer and owner of Flemingate, said:
“Superdrug’s decision to expand its regional presence with a store at Flemingate demonstrates the status the centre has achieved as a retail and leisure destination.
“We’re delighted to add Superdrug to the ever-growing Flemingate family of leading national brands and high-quality independent operators.”
