Town's Rich Jagger Calls For More Determination

Beverley Town Football Club return to action following a week off from league action as they host South Cave at the Norwood Recreation Ground.

Town who are placed in tenth spot in the Humber Premier League play South Cave for the second time in as many weeks following their clash in the cup last Saturday that ended in a 2-1 win to Cave.

While Jagger was not cup game himself last week, the gaffer says reports indicated that the game lacked any real quality with his number two Arthur Jessop adding that town lacked determination.

Speaking ahead of the visit of South Cave Jagger said;

“This week I am looking to tweak the formation to put more emphasis on pressing high up the pitch, creating more chances and above all looking for more desire and determination to get the result.”

With just three wins in eight games Town can ill afford to allow sides like South Cave who are just one place below Town to leave Norwood with anything.

Defeats to Crown and Hessle Rangers in September brought an end to a mini rival at Town that saw them steady the ship with good results after a shaky start to the season.

Town will be boosted by the return of skipper Nathan White following his three match ban for dangerous play.

Stuart Oliver, Adam Foster, Tom Davies and Ben Thompson however are all missing for the visit of South Cave.

Jagger has turned to the other ranks within the club as he looks to bolster his team, Will Harrison being named in the first team squad for the game.

Jagger said;

“Harrison joins the squad for the first time which is great news for the clubs development as this time last year he was with the academy side.”

Pick of the weekend fixtures in the Humber Premier League is the match between early leaders Pocklington Town and new boys East Yorkshire Carnegie who are three points behind in the title race.

Beverley Town Vs South Cave kicks of at 2PM at the Norwood Recreation Ground.
