Val Wood Releases New Novel For 2016

Another year, another novel for best-selling Beverley based author Val Wood who releases her brand new title, No Place For a Woman this month.

Val’s 22nd book tells the story of Lucy, a determined young doctor who struggles to prove herself in the face of sexism and loss.

Orphaned at a young age and brought up by relatives, Lucy is determined to follow in her father’s footsteps and become a doctor. But the heroine has to overcome many an obstacle to find her place on the front line of battle in World War I.

No Place for a Woman is the 22nd book from the author who rose to fame after winning the prestigious Catherine Cookson prize for her first novel, The Hungry Tide.

The book will be launched on 20th October, 5pm at Waterstones, Hull, where the author will meet her readers and sign copies of the book.

Val will also be appearing at WH Smith Books, Beverley on Saturday 22nd October at 11am.
