“We have a packed schedule of events throughout the day.  ‘Christmas Lunch made easy’ by Chris Harrison, an award winning Chef from ‘Shoot the Bull’ in Hull is one to look out for.  Chris will be bringing some samples dishes for people to taste.”

With the community a key value of the event, Helen says that by holding the Christmas Festival of Food and Drink at Beverley Minster means the Town Council are able to showcase the magnificent building in all its glory and to promote community aspect of the festival.

Helen said;

“It’s just a lovely day out for all the family.  Children will be able to see Santa and will be very welcome to take pictures with him with their own cameras, there is no charge for this. We will also be supporting a number of local charities at the event.”

Local businesses in Town are also set to benefit from the event. Research from previous events has shown that visitors were not only local but also travelling into Beverley from neighbouring counties.

Commenting on this Helen said;

“Given the numbers of people the event has a positive impact on the local economy. People who come to the Christmas Festival of Food and Drink also visit the pubs, cafes, restaurants, shops whilst in the town. Hopefully this will encourage them to come back for a revisit in the future.”

The Christmas Festival of Food and Drink takes place from 10Am at Beverley Minster. Entry to the event is FREE.

Anyone who is driving to the event is advised to park at Flemingate. Refreshments and toilet facilities are available on site.
