A card designed by a pupil from Molescroft Primary School, Sam Davis has been selected by the MP Graham Stuart as to be used on his official Christmas Card for 2016 and be sent out some of the biggest names in UK politics.
Sam whose design featured a snowman in a snowy scene was selected from the hundreds of entries from school children throughout the area as the overall winner by Beverley based artist Nick Matson.
The competition to find a Christmas Card design for the MP involved a number of schools and pupils from within his constituency. Commenting on the winning design and the competition Mr. Stuart said;
“It’s lovely to get local children involved in choosing my Christmas card for 2016 and I was really impressed by the quality of the entries that came in.”
“The excitement every kid feels about Christmas comes through in all the pictures they drew or created on their computers and I don’t think the choice of which one to go with has ever been harder. “
“I’m very grateful to Beverley artist Mr. Matson for judging the process and I want to say a big thank you to every child and teacher who took part in this competition.”
“Congratulations go to the winner, Sam from Molescroft Primary, whose card looks great and I hope people will enjoy receiving them.”
The Christmas card featuring Sam’s design will be sent to some of the most important people in the country including the Prime Minster Teresa May. However Sam was one of the very first people to get a card from Mr. Stuart featuring his design.
Molescroft Primary School Head Teacher Mr. Loncaster was delighted that Sam’s design had been selected as the winner while also praising Evie Ostler, Charlotte Rivett and Emma Coombe who were worthy runners up.
