Nathan White put in a captains performance scoring the winning the goal as Beverley Town Football Club came from behind to beat Goole United 3 -1 at the Norwood Recreation Ground.
Town got off to worst possible start when going a goal behind inside the first minutes of the game though second was to be a different story.
Looking much fitter than their opponents Town flipped the game on its head with second half goals from White, Joe Norton and Craig Muirhead ensured it was Town who earn all three points.
Speaking after the match White, said;
“I thought second half we dominated and put pressure on all around the pitch. As a team we forced them into mistakes and got what we deserved. Ben Thompson and Jordan Ogden put good shift in helping to secure this result.”
“Recently we haven’t got the results we wanted but today the performance from everyone will give us the confidence to push forward. We are starting to learn how to see games out and have a winning mentality.”
Towns boss Rich Jagger was full of praise for his skipper saying;
“White put in a good all round performance, leading by example. He scored one today and made a great contribution as skipper and really pulled everyone together as a one.”
“This is great result. I am really pleased that we got the result our performances have deserved.”
“We have got a good team spirit, everyone works for each other and we are now reaping the benefit of players getting fitter and having a settled side.”
“I thought we played well, just a bit of a slow start. We tried to play football on a surface that wasn’t great but pleased me that we always tried to play football.”
Victory sees Beverley Town climb two places to 8th in the Humber Premier League with 19 points, still some distance behind the leaders Sculcoates Amateurs.
