People in Hull have said that they find Hull a warm, welcoming and friendly city, according to the latest results from the most recent Hull People’s Panel.
The People’s Panel quarterly surveys, which are run by Hull City Council, ask people who have signed up to give their opinion on a wide range of issues.
The September’s People’s Panel asked about their perceptions of Hull and what they participate with in the city.
The majority of the people surveyed also said they found Hull to be interesting, exciting and a great place to live and raise a family.
Councillor Steve Brady, Leader of the Council, said: “The positive feedback from people who took part in September’s People’s Panel reflect the feeling of optimism we have in the city right now.
“People told us that since winning the Hull City of Culture 2017 title, they feel that there has been more positive coverage about the city and that nationally and internationally, Hull is getting more attention.
“This is a great place with a lot to offer so I hope as the spotlight shines on Hull throughout its year as UK City of Culture 2017, the local and national perception of Hull continues to improve positively as we welcome visitors to experience all the wonderful things that we have to offer.”
People who were surveyed added that they were proud of William Wilberforce and the part he played in the abolitionist movement along with the city’s Maritime Heritage.
If they were asked to show a visitor around the city, the top four places they would go are the museums, the Old Town, The Deep and Hull Marina.
