Sculcoates Amateurs remain top of the Humber premier League after they beat Beverley Town Football Club 2-0 at the Norwood Recreation Ground.
Goals from goals either side of the break by Steven Gardner and Eleazer Ezekiel ensure Scullies enjoyed another day out at Norwood.
Speaking after the game a disappointed Town Manager Rich Jagger said;
“There was no much in the game. Scullies adapted to the conditions better. We are a footballing side who like to get it down and play and the pitch didn’t suit that.”
“I try to encourage the lads to play but perhaps we should have gone more direct today, but that’s how I wanted the lads to play.”
“Going into the next game I will maybe look at our style of play for the next home game.”
There were some positives for the his side who have now suffered back to back defeats. While they were missing a key players, Jagger was pleased by how his side responded singling g out a couple, he said;
“I thought we stuck to the task well even thought we didn’t create a lot. I thought Mathew Spencer had a good game in goal making some vital saves.”
“However Ben Thomson was once again a stand out performer. He’s Stepped up to be skipper for the day and had another solid game.”
“To be honest he has been outstanding all season, his performances and attitude have been second to none and he has been a real asset to the team.”
With no other fixtures played in the Humber Premier League it means Town remain in eighth place in the table.
Next weekend they will hit the road as they travel to Blackburn Sports Club to face North Ferriby Athletic who are five places below Town in 11th in the standings.
