Beverley Town manager Rich Jagger is confident his side will get a run out this weekend and the game against East Riding Carnegie will go ahead.

Bad weather has seen many game called off due to the pitches being unplayable though Jagger is confident Norwood will be ready for Saturday.

Jagger said;

“We are very confident the game will be on. The entire squad is looking forward to what should be a good game. Last time we played them it was a competitive game and we expect no different this time around.”

“We had a good session at training on Thursday and prepared properly for the game, the lads are raring to go and I would encourage locals to come down to Norwood and support grass roots football.”

Jagger is still missing a number players for the match with Jordan Organ, Nathan Mist, Ryan Saltmer all ruled out through injury while Stuart Oliver is not available.

There will also be late fitness tests for centre back Dan McHale and club captain Nathan White who is struggling with a back injury.

Town were hoping to a positive start to the new year though lost their last two games as they struggle to find the back of the net.

Despite the defeats Town remain in eighth place in the Humber Premier League and site safely in mid table some 9 points behind the leaders Sculcoates Amateurs.

East Riding Carnegie arrive at the Norwood Recreation Ground in equally bad form having won just once in their last six, losing their last three games.

The fixture will also see the return of two former Town captains to Norwood who enjoyed great success with the club.

For Jonny Ricardo who skippered Town to two league titles and a national cup it will be his first time back at Norwood since he parted ways with the club in the summer.

Kick of is at 2PM – the bar will be open during the match.
