Beverley Town Football Club made it back to back wins in the Humber Premier League as they brush aside nine man Goole United with a comprehensive 5-0 win at the Victoria Pleasure Ground.
Manager Rich Jagger now hopes that with results going their way they can close the gap between them and the top four in the table.
Commenting after the game that saw his side complete the double over United, Jagger told HU17.net;
“Overall is was a convincing win, with a clean sheet, so we could ask for more. The way the results went we have pulled closer to the teams above us and are hopeful of finishing the season well.”
“This was a good team performance, we started well and had all the possession but couldn’t convert our chances.”
Town took control; of the game when in space of six minutes Craig Muirhead found the back of the net twice to send Beverley into a 2-0 lead at the break.
United were given the chance to get back into the game when Craig Spearing awarded the home side a spot kick though United were unable to take that chance.
United were soon to find themselves facing an uphill struggle as two of their players were sent off following a head butt with the second player being given his marching orders for a foul on Town’s Max Thomas.
With their advantage Town went on to add a further three goals to their tally. Joe Norton curled a great shot in the top corner, Matty Littlefield tucked away a nice finish and man of the Aldo Hysenaj scored after a nice team move with just three minutes remaining.
Victory sees Town remain in eighth spot in the Humber Premier League but they do have games in hand on the sides above them in the table.
Next weekend Town face a much tough test as they take on Reckitts, the team who are just once place and two points ahead of them in the league.
