Indoor climbing has really become the cutting edge leisure trend in the UK in recent years as the public get bored with the monotony of the gym and wise up to the fact that climbing is far more than just a bit of fun.

It has huge health benefits, burning 700 calories an hour; building core strength and muscle tone as well as being mentally challenging and helping to improve concentration and confidence.

Rock Up is an indoor climbing centre that is best described as ‘theme park meets exercise’. There are over 26 different multi-coloured climbs, all differing in their style, ability level and look. This is a climbing adventure that will appeal to all.

There are over 70 challenges to accomplish – so you could be scaling the Skyscraper, testing out the Twister or taking the ultimate Vertical Drop Slide. What’s more, is that Rock Up have successfully coupled this with a soft play area for the younger members of the family to provide a truly active, engaging experience whatever the age.

Rock Up launched its first site 2 ½ years ago at Whiteley Shopping in Hampshire and has proved hugely popular with shoppers, friends and families alike. Following on from this success, it opened in Birmingham in 2016 and now at St Stephen’s in 2017.

Heidi Duckworth, Executive Chairman and Aaran Eade, Operations Director for Rock Up said;

“We created Rock Up to provide an exciting new indoor leisure experience aimed at groups of friends and families with children of all ages. In an age where everyone is consumed by gadgets and screen time, we wanted to provide an environment that would bring people together and create shared, active, experiences. Our climbing walls provide fun and exhilarating challenges, building confidence and strength regardless of age.”

Rock Up offers a wide range of additional adventures, from birthday parties to corporate events and from fitness classes to the Rockstars Climbing Club for children. Rock Up provides a safe fun packed venue, coupled with a fantastic soft play alternative for the little ones (under 8’s) and Rock Up & Eat, a café selling great, home-cooked food and drinks.
