As part of the council’s new initiative, Active Coast, the events team at Sewerby Hall and Gardens are offering visitors the chance to take part in a brand new family fun day on Sunday, 9 April between 10am and 4pm.
Various inflatables will be in place on the front events field supported by family archery and a hay bale challenge as well as other sporting activities.
There will be face painting for children and musical support in the form of the Shamrock Experience, a folk fusion live band performing at 2pm.
Launching at Easter 2017, Active Coast aims to provide opportunities for residents and visitors to get active, be healthy and enjoy life on the East Yorkshire coast, centred round Bridlington, Hornsea and Withernsea.
Over the last few years, the Active Coast concept has been growing, with activities including Sewerby Parkrun, Go Spike Beach Volleyball and the All Ride adapted bike scheme. Active Coast now aims to provide a ‘one stop shop’ to bring everything together for residents and visitors alike.
Admission charges are £7 for adults, £4.90 for children and £22 for a family (two adults and two children) and apply from Saturday, 1 April. There is no additional charge to attend events and activities unless otherwise stated.
Excellent value annual passes are also available starting from £12.50 and can be purchased or renewed online or via any pay box.
