Local estate agents, Dee Atkinson & Harrison came up with an Egg-ceptional way to celebrate Easter with the children at Cherry Burton Primary School.
Pupils at the school were asked to decorate boiled eggs with the prizes being awarded to those that were picked out by the judges.
Decorating eggs is a long standing tradition throughout the world and for Christians, the Easter egg is symbolic of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Lucy Wright, a Sales Assistant for Dee Atkinson & Harrison was one of the judges, shes explained more, she said;
“With Easter fast approaching we wanted an opportunity to get involved with the Easter spirit and decided we would sponsor an Easter themed competition.”
“As a long running estate agents in Beverley, established in 1885, we wanted to rekindle Easter traditions by inviting the children of Cherry Burton Primary School to decorate a boiled egg, a tradition that even our senior partners can still remember doing as a child.”
“The winners and runner ups were presented with a chocolate egg decorated with the Dee Atkinson & Harrison logo.”
The estate agents got involved as they look to help promote the school to their clients and also help raise funds for the school, Lucy said;
“Cherry Burton is taking in an increasing number of pupils from Beverley due to the new Molescroft housing and a shortage of school places in the town.”
“Any parents of children already at or going to attend the school who wish to sell their property DA&H will donate 10% of their sales commission to the funds of Cherry Burton School.”
