A host of local and regional producers have signed up for a new monthly food event at Beverley’s Flemingate centre, with the first taking place this Sunday.
The indoor and outdoor food event will take place on the second Sunday of every month and will offer locally-produced food and drink from an exciting range of independent traders.
Almost 20 traders have signed up for Sunday’s food fair, including Beverley-based White Rabbit Chocolatiers; Driffield’s Coleman’s Cider; Hull-based beekeepers BeeLoved Honey; Market Weighton’s The Little Square Cake Company; and Arnold’s Oyster Bar from Bridlington.
If you’re eating on the go, try some chicken salsa from local outside caterer, Two Chefs, or a homemade
ice-cream from Beverley-based gelateria, Poma. Or if you fancy an exotic cuppa, give Swanland-based Leaves of the World a try with its range of organic loose leaf teas from around the world.
Graham Tait, Flemingate Centre Manager, said:
“I’m really looking forward to our first monthly food event this Sunday. We have a great range of independent traders from around East Yorkshire giving shoppers more variety and access to locally-produced food.
“Our monthly event will complement Beverley’s existing Saturday and Wednesday markets and give visitors even more variety and access to locally-produced food.
“Hosting regular events such as this illustrates our desire to make Flemingate available for activities that benefit the community and enhance the reputation of Beverley as a great place to visit.”
Organised by The Market Managers, a York-based organisation responsible for successful markets in the North Yorkshire towns of Malton, Scarborough and Acomb, the monthly food event will offer high-quality produce at competitive prices and will be open from 10am to 4pm.
The food event is in addition to Flemingate’s monthly Craft and Artisan Fair, which runs on the first Saturday of every month.
Traders confirmed for this Sunday’s food event are: Arnold’s Oyster Bar; Beeloved Honey; Bespoke Brownies; Coleman’s Cider; Gemini Chocolate; Happy Hounds; Hull Pie Company; Leaves of the World; Love Hog Roast; Macaronman; Pizza Kitchen; Riverford Organic; Sultan Olives; The Little Square Cake Company; Two Chefs; White Rabbit Chocolates; Riston Plants; and Sandy Angels.
