Blue & Golds Return To Action With Trip To Bentley

The blue and golds first team will return to action after what will have been a three week lay-off this Saturday.

Beverley ARLC will hit the road as they make the trip to South Yorkshire where they will take on Bentley near Doncaster.

The match should be an intriguing clash as both clubs have developed rivalries over the years. Encounters between the two sides in the past have been tight ones.

Beverley took on Bentley twice in 2015 with Bentley winning at home 32-30 and Beverley winning the return Division One fixture 25-22.

Both sides met in the 40/20 cup in 2016 with Beverley winning 40-30 on home soil.

Bentley have had a mixed start to their 2017 Premier Division campaign winning their opening game 38-22 against North Hull Knights but then suffering a 44-20 reverse away to league newcomers Nottingham Outlaws.

Scott Taylor and Pat Howdle have been busy trying to keep the squad fit during the break with extra training and a friendly at Dearne Valley and hope to have got their preparations right.

Lewis Straw is expected to make a return to the stand off half position after impressing in the friendly.

Jack Howdle should hopefully overcome a slight hamstring pull and there is an outside chance of a return for Jack Humphries after recovering from a broken ankle.

Kick-off is 2.30pm at Woodside Fields, Bentley.
