Road Rage Leaves Man With Broken Nose

Humberside Police are appealing to the public for information relating to an assault in Beverley that was a result of road rage.

In a statement released police say a man was left with a broken nose following an altercation between two drivers.

They said;

“We are appealing for witnesses following an assault on A1035 Hull Bridge Road at the junction with Swinemoor Lane, Beverley between 4pm and 4.25pm on Saturday 15 April.”

“A white Skoda Superb, driven by a 61 year-old Beverley man, was travelling along the A1035 from White Cross roundabout towards Beverley.”

“He was passed by three large motorcycles who were overtaking between oncoming traffic. The driver sounded the horn as he thought the manoeuvre unsafe.”

“A further two miles down the road ahead of the junction of Swinemoor Lane, a grey Skoda which was travelling in front of the Superb pulled over and caused the driver stop behind him.”

“A man driving the grey Skoda got out of his car and approached the Superb, he hit the driver’s side window with a metal bar.”

“The Superb driver then opened his window to challenge the aggressor and was struck in the face with the metal bar causing a broken nose. The suspect then drove away from the scene.”

Officer’s investigating say they would like to speak with speak to anyone who witnessed the assault by calling urged to call 101 quoting crime reference number 2264642.
