Beverley ARLC return to action this weekend with the skipper, Lewis Poskitt saying he is looking forward to getting back to playing after being side-lined for two weeks.
Scrum Half Poskitt comments come ahead of the Blue & Golds match on Saturday when they entertain an unbeaten Batley side in the 2.30PM kick off.
Speaking ahead of the match he said;
“We’ve never played Batley before but from what we’ve been told there aggressive and will try to dominate the game. If we can get in the arm wrestle then we’ve got the players to win the game.”
“Batley are unbeaten so we know it’s going to be a tough task. Our large squad will be used again due to us missing some regulars.”
“If we complete our sets and get into the arm wrestle early on we’re confident we can kick-start the season and get a result.”
Poskitt says the squad are well drilled and have been working hard in training their tactics, he said;
“We’ve worked on completing our sets and doing the basic rights as that’s what’s let us down so far this season.”
“Our discipline has also hampered us so we’ve worked on game situations under fatigue. Hopefully it’ll all come together in front of a big crowd on Saturday at The Potting Shed.”
Beverley are boosted by the return on Jake Hart-Fisher who has recover from a toe infection, while his younger brother is also likely to feature. Speaking about Jake’s return Poskitt said;
“It is a big boost to have Jake back, he is a massive player and he’s good to have in the changing room. Having him fit again certainly gives us some much needed bulk going forward down the middle.”
“With his younger brother playing it will be good to see both of them out on the field together at some point.”
Head Coach Scott Taylor is fully aware that victory in this fixture could set down a marker for the rest of the season, Beverley have yet to show their best form.
