Beverley Racecourse enjoyed their busiest meeting of the season so far as they welcomed the Challenge Cup and top jockey Paul Hanagan to the course.

Stunning weather graced the Westwood course for their Spring Half Term meeting that saw Beverley Races team up the Challenge Cup holders Hull FC.

Thousands of people enjoyed an afternoon at the track that saw 7/4f Our Little Pony ridden by Paul Hanagan win the first of the races.

Trackside there were punters from all over the North of England, who had travelled to Beverley to enjoy a lovely afternoon soaking up the ray and sipping Pimm’s.

Racing returns to Beverley on 10 June when they host the ever popular Very British Race Day.

A highly popular themed event race goers are encouraged to attend wearing red, white blue as the event looks to encapsulate the very best of British.

This meeting will also include two key races the Hilary Needler and Brian Yeardley Trophies for two-year-old fillies and colts respectively, while there is also the hugely popular Donkey Derby.

Other highlights on the day to look forward to will be some very rational British stall and also a Last Night of the Proms’ sing-along after racing ends.
