FCC Environment is calling on forward thinking local charities which are keen to expand and work in partnership, to get in touch with them.

The company, which manages the Reuse Shop at the Humberfield Household Waste and Recycling Centre (HWRC) in Hessle on behalf of East Riding of Yorkshire Council and Hull City Council, has announced that it is seeking a charity partner to help drive donations and encourage even more members of the public to buy great value pre-loved items from the Reuse Shop.

Since it was opened in July 2015, reusable items that the public have taken to the network of 13 Household Waste Recycling Sites in the East Riding and Hull, have been sold and a percentage of profits has been donated to charities nominated by East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Chairman and Hull City Council’s Mayor.

But the shop has proved so popular since it was opened and it is growing in popularity every day that FCC Environment is now looking for a Charitable Partner to take over the management and day to day running of the Reuse Shop.

FCC contract manager Cassie Hart said:

“We believe that charities not only have the skills and knowledge to successfully operate retail outlets such as this but that they could also generate significant financial benefits for their charity, so we are looking for a partner to work with and to develop alongside us.

“It is a model we have employed successfully elsewhere in the UK so we are really looking forward to finding someone to work with here.”

If you are a registered charitable organisation and feel that you have the right level of retail experience and skills in running such a facility then please contact Cassie Hart on 01482 211454 or email cassie.hart@fccenvironment.co.uk by 23rd June 2017.
