Parents and carers in the East Riding looking for ways to keep their children entertained this summer can get a wealth of great ideas from the School’s Out 2017 booklet.
School’s Out 2017 will be delivered in early July to 20,000 homes of children aged between four and 13 who attend an East Riding school. It is full of ideas and activities to keep children active and has a sport theme for what promises to be a superb summer of international sports events.
Activities featured include swimming lessons, archery, golf, cricket, rugby, football, trampolining, beach games, gymnastics, and mini-safaris. Many of the activities in the booklet can be booked online.
There are also activities specifically designed for parents and carers of children with a disability.
Councillor Julie Abraham, portfolio holder for children, young people and education, said : “Parents and carers can find it a challenge to keep their children entertained during the long summer holidays.
“School’s Out is packed with great ideas for fun activities and will be very useful to keep throughout the summer, so that parents and carers can plan exciting things to do with their children.”
The booklet will be delivered through the post from the start of July, and a further 12,000 copies will be available in East Riding customer service centres, libraries, leisure centres and children’s centres.
