The Beverley Building Society’s Charity of the Month for June 2017 has been announced, as Andy’s at St Andrew’s Hospice.
Andy’s offers free palliative care to children and young people up to the age of 25 with any progressive life-limiting illness. The service is available to patients throughout Hull, the East Riding of Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.
The charity goes above and beyond the standard care for patients, with no set visiting hours, pets allowed, no set routine and Home Liaison support and advice service.
The Society met with Alison Lark, Hospice Representative, she said: “We are so grateful for the donation. All money received goes towards making memories.”
“Every child that comes through our doors has a life limiting illness, and we aim to give the children and their families the best possible time”
“We offer respite care for families, giving the parents a break, whilst ensuring their child is in the best hands”
Maria Shepherdson, Mortgage Manager at the Society, said: “Andy’s Hospice does great work supporting children and their families in the local area. The Society is proud to be able to aid such a worthy cause, on behalf of our members”.
