The Beverley Tesco Superstore will be hosting a great Yorkshire celebration this Tuesday (1st August).
The event will showcase local produce stocked at stores across the region in honour of Yorkshire Day 2017.
All day up until 3.30pm local residents are being encouraged to visit the Superstore on Morton Lane to see the fantastic range of produce stocked at the store.
In total Tesco works with more than 40 suppliers in Yorkshire, providing just under 200 different local products within its aisles.
There will be free product sampling on the day from the exclusive Yorkshire producers on sale in the Beverley store, including Jacksons Bakery, Yorkshire Peas, Wold Top Brewery and Blue Keld Natural Mineral Water.
Local Ward Councillor Elaine Aird will also be present on the day, lending her support to the great produce on show at their local store. Additionally, visitors can get involved in charity games and activities.
Chris Beamish, event organiser and store manager at Tesco Beverley, said:
“The Tesco Beverley team are proud to be hosting the Yorkshire Day event at the store, and can’t wait to welcome local residents to try some great local produce available on our shelves.
“I urge local residents to join the team in store for a fun, reet Yorkshire day!”
There will also be fun and games taking place on the day, with all money raised going towards Tesco’s national charity partners DiabetesUK and the British Heart Foundation.
Mark Thomas, Corporate Affairs Manager for the North of England at Tesco, said:
“Over the past year, almost £14m worth of local, branded products were sold in our stores in the county which is a significant boost for our producers in the region.
“What better way to celebrate than on Yorkshire Day supporting our fantastic suppliers with great regional produce that our stores stock and celebrating this local milestone day with our customers.”
