The Beverley Building Society’s monthly charity winner for July has been announced as Hull and East Yorkshire Mind.
Mental illness affects 1 in 4 people in England, Mind are dedicated to making sure anyone with a mental health problem has somewhere to turn for advice and support.
Mind currently support around 5,000 people every year to achieve a range of outcomes that improve their mental health.
Hull and East Yorkshire Mind are currently looking for young people aged 13 – 18 to get involved in shaping and planning their services, in order to improve the support available in the local area for young people.
Claire Thomas, Fundraising and Marketing Manager at Hull and East Yorkshire Mind, said:
“I want to say a big thank you to all the staff and customers at Beverley Building Society for supporting Hull and East Yorkshire Mind. One in four people in any year experience mental health difficulties, so your donation will help us to make sure we are there to support people in the local area.”
The Society aim to donate to charities operating in the local area, in order to give back to the community that has supported it for over 150 years.

“Mental illnesses are a terrible thing to deal with, and working to remove the stigma around mental illness and provide much needed support to people is extremely important. Mind is a very well-deserving charity of our monthly donation prize and we hope they keep up the great work in the local area!”
