Rich Jagger said he was pleased after he watched his Beverley Town side claim their first home win of the season as they beat South Cave 2-1 in the Humber Premier League.
Skipper Nathan White and the inform Alex Stark both found the back of the net in the second half as town secured a victory that moves them to fourth place in the table.
Speaking after the game Jagger said;
“It was pleasing to get our first home win of the season. We played well, defensively we were never really in trouble, and going forward we looked dangerous.”
“Our midfield was solid. Stu Oliver was excellent in middle of the park along side Kegan Rose.”
“The only disappointment was to lose Dan McHale to a red card, after he reacted to an off the ball incident.”
“We are however full of confidence and look forward to playing away at Chalk Lane next Saturday.”
They could have been more goals in this match as they hit the woodwork on more than one occasion and failed to capitalise on their dominant play and chances created.
Goalless at half time Town got off to the perfect second start in the second period when their skipper White, converted from five yards out with his second goal of the season.
Town doubled their lead just five minutes later when Aldo Hysenaj linked up with Stark who slotted home from inside the box.
With eight minutes to go in the game, Beverley Town’s Danny McHale got involved with some off the ball antics resulting in match official Wes Andrews showing the defender a straight red card.
Reduced to ten men Town with stood the pressure being put on them by South Cave but were breached in the dying moments of the match as Tom Dobson scored a consolation for the visitors.
