A big display that was created following photography competition organised by Dementia Friendly East Riding will go on display in the town.
Pictures along with captions will go on display at the up coming Beverley Food Festival before moving to the Parkway Cinema where it will be on show for a week.
Trustee and volunteer at Dementia Friendly East Riding, Simon Foster explained more, he said;
“A recent photographic competition, Looking Beyond, set out to find some great images and captions that would help challenge some common perceptions about dementia.”
“In doing so Dementia Friendly East Riding seeks to encourage local individuals, communities and businesses to consider what would make them more dementia friendly.”
“Well the wait is almost over and eighteen photographs have been selected for the touring show that will make its first appearance on 1 October during Beverley Food Festival.”
“The two metre high exhibition boards will be on display outside the old Wilkinson’s store on Cross Street.”
“Whilst they are there for one day only they will then be moving to Parkway Cinema in Flemingate for one week where they can be viewed in the foyer.”
“After that the display moves around Hull and East Yorkshire for six months.”
“The Dementia Friendly East Riding website (www.dementiafriendlyeastriding.org.uk) or the Looking Beyond Facebook page will carry details of the venues that follow.”
“The images are worth looking out for and the display has details of how to make contact with Dementia Friendly East Riding for more information.”
