The next of the new weekly sessions – ‘Sewerby Squirrels’ – held at Sewerby Hall and Gardens on Monday mornings for under fives and their families, will be held in the Orangery from 10am -11.30am, on Monday 9 October.
All the new sessions feature activities based on seasonal events, Edwardian life, and exhibits on display at the venue.
The activity on 9 October will be kneading bread dough (which will get messy, so participants should come prepared!). There will also be the usual sea-themed toys and books, and some Edwardian kitchen objects to play with.
The sessions are included in normal admission prices for Sewerby Hall and Gardens whilst they apply.
Under Fives Learning co-ordinator Lucy Rose said:
“Kneading bread dough will inevitably get rather messy, so our Squirrels should come prepared!!
“The ‘Sewerby Squirrels’ sessions are about much more than just playing with toys – we are trying to encourage very young people to come along and have fun in a museum setting, in the hope that they will develop an interest that they will keep for life.”
