Beavers U9s Show Their Skills IN First Match Of New Season

Beverley Rugby Union Football Club Under 9s team played their first match of the season against Malton on Sunday.

The players were eagerly looking forward to this match, in which they were allowed to play full contact rugby for the first time.

The match was hosted by the Hullensians, although Hullensians unfortunately don’t have a team of this age category of their own.

The morning started with joint training led by the Beverley and Malton coaches for both the Beverley Beavers and the Malton players to give the children more confidence in tackling safely ahead of the match.

Mixed teams of 8-9 year old boys and girls all picked up tackling skills brilliantly and loved the game.

BRUFC’s Under 9s team scored lots of good tries and although they don’t yet officially keep score at this age, spectators were confident that the Beverley Beavers won the match!

There is plenty of space in Beverley RUFC for any girls or boys who would like to give rugby a try and any new players would be very welcome!
