Beverley Building Society’s Charity of the Month initiative produces another local charity group winner, the Cherry Tree Community Centre.
Located on Cherry Tree Lane in Beverley, the group works with those in the community struggling with varying degrees of poverty.
The centre is a hub for help and support for a variety of social, personal and community issues. The centre also hosts an OFSTED inspected pre-school, the Gruffalos, which aims to provide affordable out of school club.
The Society donated £250 to the charity, which was chosen by the many members who visited the branch throughout August.

“The Cherry Tree Community Centre is a great resource for people struggling with childcare or seeking advice. Places like this are so important to help people work and develop, what a great charity to win our Charity of the Month prize!”

“Our free confidential advice service which is available daily for both local and the whole of East Riding helps people with debts, housing issues, disability rights and employment problems. The money you donated will go towards running the needy service.”
“On an average month we see over 100 clients and answer the phone to over 500 people in crisis needing an appointment.”
