East Riding of Yorkshire Council and BAM Construction have been shortlisted in the best public service building category at this year’s Local Authority Building Control (LABC) Awards for Building Excellence.
The council’s building control and project and design management teams, working alongside BAM Construction, have been selected as a finalist for the impressive work undertaken on the new £25 million East Riding Leisure Bridlington development.
The awards celebrate achievements in the construction industry. They reward excellent buildings, outstanding companies, partnerships and individuals that go that extra mile.
Councillor Symon Fraser, cabinet portfolio holder for strategic asset management, housing and environment at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said:
“Being shortlisted for such a prestigious award is fitting recognition of the hard work of our building control and project design and management teams as well as for the contractor who delivered such an amazing development in the East Riding.
“Since completion, East Riding Leisure Bridlington has quickly become a popular venue for both residents and visitors to Bridlington and provides some of the best leisure facilities anywhere in the country.”
The council and BAM will now compete against 11 other entries from around the country in the category of best public service building at the LABC Awards Grand Final on Friday, 10 November in London at the Westminster Park Plaza.
