Rich Jagger says Beverley Town Football Club are looking to cause an upset as they face East Yorkshire Carnegie in the Senior Cup.

Town go into the game as underdogs though their recent run of form and results against Carnegie means Jagger will go to Dunswell Park looking for a result.

Speaking ahead of the match Jagger said;

“We are looking forward to the challenge of playing a team higher up the pyramid. We are in good form, having won three on the bounce and will go into the game full of confidence.”

“Obviously Carnegie will be favourites, and expected to win, but we are really up for it and looking to cause an upset.”

“We have a good record against them having beaten them and drawn against them in the league last season, so it should be a good game.”

Craig Muirhead was on target twice as town beat Carnegie the last time the sides met back in February of this year in the Humber premier League.

The match will see Town reunited with a number of former players who enjoyed great success in the colours of Beverley Town, including Carnegie’s manager Jonny Ricardo.

Ricardo knows his side, who are currently mid table in the Northern Counties League,  go  into the match as favourites, he said;

 “It should be a cracker. There should be a large crowd there to watch and it is a match we are all looking forward to.”

“We go into a game as favourites which is nice, but can’t take Town lightly as obviously they’ll be up for it.”

“ It’s a big game because we want a good cup run and there’s a few of us who have played for Beverley, myself, Michael O’Connell, Danny McHale and Jamie Waltham have had success with Beverley Town.”

Town will be without their Skipper Nathan White who is serving a three match ban while the clubs leading scorer Alex Stark is available for this intriguing 7.45PM encounter and Dunswell Park.
