Queensgate Pre School have say they are really grateful after they were named winners of the Beverley Building Society charity of the month competition.
A charitable pre school, they have been operating in Beverley for the past 25 years at Beverley Grammar School site.
Sally Lindley, Manager of Queensgate Pre School said;
“At the moment we are fund raising for new toys and also to replace the Porta Cabin which is over 20 years old and falling apart, in all we need to raise about £50,000 for a new building.”
“We started out in the art block at the Grammar School before moving into the current building we are in now which needs replacing.”
Sally says raising the money needed is a big ask for them and that they have brought in fund raising specialist to who is looking at grant applications and also planning a sky dive.
Each month Beverley Building Society give customers the chance to pick a scheme with the winners getting a donation £250 for the winner.
Sally expressed her gratitude to the Society and to those who voted, she said;
“I would like to thank Beverley Building Society for all their support and this donation it will be put to good use for the benefit of local children.”
“Also I would like to thank all their customers who voted for us, we are very grateful It was very kind of them to pick us.”
Beverley Building Society ’s Charity of the Month initiative has enjoyed another successful year, with many charities being suggested by members and non-members of the Society.
