Beverley ARLC head coach Scott Taylor says there is a real buzz about the squad as they club look forward to what promises to a be an exciting season.

The Blue and Golds will not only be stepping up another level but will also be taking part in the Challenge Cup.

Following his return from World Cup duties in Australia with England Taylor said;

“The numbers have been the best we have ever had in recent seasons and the lads are really stepped up to the plate.”

“There is a real buzz about the place at the moment and the release of the fixtures and the draw for the Challenge Cup just raised the bar a bit more.”

“We hope to confirm a pre-season friendly shortly on 20 January, a week ahead of the Challenge Cup Tie at Shaw Cross.”

Fixtures for to the 2018 campaign for National Conference Division 3 have now been released with the blue and golds kicking off their season at home to Cumbrian side Barrow Island on 24 February.

The traveling in Division 3 will be the longest comparing all four NCL divisions and there are no other East Yorkshire sides providing any local derbies.

Indeed there are only three trips within Yorkshire as a whole in the shape of Eastmoor Dragons, Stanley Rangers and Dewsbury Celtic.

Clock Face, Blackbrook, Woolston Rovers, Waterhead Warriors, Oldham St Annes and Salford City Roosters make up the Lancastrian contingent.

Cumbrian opposition is provided by Millom and Barrow Island whilst Gateshead Storm fly the flag for the North East.

Key dates for Taylor and his squad include the longest trip to Millom on 12 May. A week later they make the trip up the A1 to face Gateshead Storm and the second trip to Cumbria to face Barrow Island happens on 11 August.

Beverley will wrap their regular league campaign on 15 September at the Beverley Leisure Centre against Oldham St Annes, although involvement in promotion play-offs could possibly extend the season,
Meanwhile it has been a time of feverish activity for club officials at Beverley ARLFC.

Perimeter fencing and dug-outs have had to be procured to specifications acceptable to both the NCL and the East Riding Council.
