Beverley Town Football Club remain fourth in the Humber Premier League after they were held 1 -1 at home against high flyers Reckitts AFC.
Richard Medcalf opened the scoring for the visitors before his goal was cancelled out by Towns skipper Nathan White who scored a screamer mid way through the first half.
Town boss Rich Jagger said that the result showed how his side has developed and that it keeps them in touch with the teams around them.
Speaking after the match, Jagger said;
“It was a tough, physical game today. I thought our young side equipped themselves well against a team that tried stamp their physicality onto the game at every opportunity.
“For me it’s an indication of how much this team has matured, I think in previous years we might have been intimidated, but the lads today put in a real fight.”
“On another day we could have nicked all three points but I think on the end a draw was about the right result. It extends our unbeaten run to 8 games, and keeps us very much in touch with the teams above us.”
Town fell behind early in the match when they were guilty of switching off allowing Reckitts to catch them out as Medcalf slotted past Matthew Spence in the Town goal.
White got town back on level terms with a 35-yard effort that found the top corner giving the Reckitts keeper no chance.
In the second half Town appeared to have the upper hand. Both sides were reduced to ten men as Towns Keegan Rose and Reckitts David Gilbey were given red cards.
Town could have won the match with the last kick of the game, though a good ball into the box drifted agonisingly past everyone as game ended all square.
