National Yorkshire Pudding Day is a celebration to proudly savour, so the Potting Shed in Beverley is honouring it by bringing back one of its Yorkshire specialities … for one week only.
Chefs at the bar and gardens on Flemingate have decided to give one of their all-time favourites a limited edition place on the specials menu in recognition of the tastiest day in the calendar.
The Yorkshire steak burrito – which wraps up steak, mixed leaves and garlic aioli inside a gorgeous Yorkshire pud – will be making a return on Sunday February 4 after a customer vote gave it a massive thumbs up.
The Potting Shed took to social media to ask regulars ‘should we or shouldn’t we bring it back?’ and it was left in no doubt.
Group executive chef Jordan Aspinall said: “Obviously we’re a little biased, but we think that Yorkshire Pudding Day is definitely the best national day of them all, so we didn’t want to let it pass without a worthy celebration.
“The Yorkshire steak burrito doesn’t feature on our current menu, but customers often ask about it so we thought this was an ideal time for it to make a comeback.
“We serve it with a pot of rich gravy and a side of chunky chips, so it’s a big hearty dish, perfect for winter into spring. And we’re about to change our Potting Shed menu from February 20 and bring in a new one so if it’s a hit for this one week we’ll definitely consider giving it a more permanent place again.”
