It’s recent collaboration with Beverley-based former Masterchef contestant Mike Williams went down a storm.

And, having got a taste for creating fine dining experiences, White Rabbit Chocolatiers is now ‘flying solo’ to run a similar event at its cosy café in Dyer Lane.

The team are offering couples an indulgent, chocolate-inspired dining experience to celebrate Valentine’s Day, on the evening of 14 February, from 7-10pm.

The family-owned business’s chocolatier and chief cook, Amy Fenner (daughter of Master Chocolatier and Founder Sally Hawkes), is busy concocting a menu to wow their guests.

She said:

“Chocolate is very much our passion here at White Rabbit – and by that we mean ‘all things chocolate’. We love creating an all-round experience which enables people to taste it in new ways, including in sweet and savoury fine dining dishes.

“We’re really excited about the event and I’m busy perfecting the menu at the moment. It will include a pink grapefruit, avocado and smoked salmon starter featuring our own chocolate vinaigrette; then for main course we’ll have a Mexican-inspired mole. For dessert, there will be a chocolate, salted caramel and honeycomb ‘smash cake’, for some real chocolatey indulgence.”

As with their first pop-up event last October, the team will be collaborating with a range of quality local suppliers to source the ingredients for their romantic menu, including smoked salmon from the Staal Smokehouse at Long Riston, and vegetables and edible flowers from Fresh & Fruity, the greengrocer’s nextdoor to their Dyer Lane premises.

Diners can also opt for complementary wine to accompany their meal, for a little extra, and the Melton-based House of Townend wine merchant will be matching perfect wine options to each course.

“We love any and all celebrations,” added Amy, “as they’re a chance for us to contribute to people’s enjoyment through food. Valentine’s Day is a great example of that, where chocolate – with its famous aphrodisiac qualities – can really contribute to people’s mood and sense of romance too!

“We’re planning to make Valentine’s evening an all-round enjoyable and indulgent evening in our intimate and atmospheric café space.”

Amy and the team have been working on a number of other, limited edition sweet creations, including Sex on the Beach Cocktail, Pink Prosecco and Passion Fruit & Cherry truffles – and Fig & Raspberrry, Geranium & Rose Heart and Strawberry Crisp bars.

For anyone looking for something a little different, they’re also offering hands-on ‘experience’ gifts, including a Couple’s Chocolate-Making Workshop, which will be taking place on Saturday September 17, between 2.30pm and 4pm.

Anyone wishing to book on any White Rabbit events can do so by visiting their shop at 14-16 Dyer Lane in Beverley, calling them on (01482) 679325, messaging them on Facebook or dropping them an email via their website at http://whiterabbitchocolatiers.co.uk
