The second Stage4Beverley festival came to an end in stunning style with the ‘Gypsy Folk Rock’ band Holy Moly and The Crackers.

The bunch of wild gypsy troubadours finished off the festival on Sunday with an exciting and visceral blend of rock, pop, folk, blues, balkan, klezmer, ska and reggae.

Chris Wade, Artistic Director of the festival said;

“It has been an amazing five days of music, with record audiences and great feedback from the artists and audiences.”

“The highlights for me were the “Swinging the Lamp” event by local performers, retelling the story of the life of the late Hull trawler man Jim Williams.”

“Others were the performance by Chris Difford from the band Squeeze whose performance included excerpts from his new book “Some Fantastic Place”.”

“The grand finale with Holy Moly and the Crackers was just the icing on the cake. Our volunteers worked tirelessly throughout the weekend and the organisers cannot thank them enough for their dedication.”

“The festival demonstrates that a festival in the middle of Winter with such a range of musical styles provides a welcome distraction to the long, dark and cold nights.”

Festival organisers have already fixed their 2019 dates for 13- 17th February, and are already considering ideas for that event.
