Sewerby Squirrels Sessions In May

‘Sewerby Squirrels’ – held at Sewerby Hall and Gardens for under fives and their families – is held in the Orangery on Mondays from 10am -11.30am, during East Riding term-time.

All the sessions feature activities based on seasonal events, Edwardian life, and exhibits on display at the venue. Each session includes a sensory area and quiet corner.

The session on 7 May will be Amy Johnson themed craft, a chance for participants to design their own hot air balloon! Monday, 14 May will be Archaeology Explorers, when the Squirrels will explore digging, skeletons and cave painting.

On Monday, 21 May, the session will be Amy Johnson Story Time, including a story about flying and a chance to play parachute games. The story will be read at 10.30am.

Lucy Cooke, under fives learning co-ordinator, said : “We have put together a very varied programme for The Squirrels in May, with particular emphasis on Amy Johnson, who of course officially opened Sewerby Hall in 1936.”

The sessions are included in normal admission prices for Sewerby Hall and Gardens whilst they apply.
