Faye, who joined the Sowerby Chartered Accountants, which is located on Annie Reed Road, says she was over the moon to win the accolade given the tough competition she faced from firms across the region.
Faye, explained how she got into the business and what it meant to win the award, she said;
“I joined Sowerby Chartered Accountants in 2014 after completing my A Levels. I began my career by studying AAT and I qualified as an AAT member in 2017. I am now studying towards the ICAEW qualification and aim to complete this by 2020.”
“I was very humbled when I was informed that I had been nominated and shortlisted for the Trainee of the Year award. I was delighted to have been recognised for my hard work and progression here at Sowerby.”
“My colleagues and I attended the event with great excitement and little anticipation of collecting the award for Trainee of the Year due to the high competition within the category. I was therefore over the moon when it was announced that I had won the award.”
“I’d like to thank everyone at Sowerby for helping me to progress through my career with the aid of their training programme. Sowerby are a great firm to work for as a trainee, I feel valued and supported as I work towards becoming a chartered accountant.”

“Working as a senior member of staff of the audit team has given her experience working within large businesses and managing small teams of people.”
“We are extremely proud of her achievement and hope to continue to work with her for many years to come.”
