BRIDLINGTON : Detecting a Touch of Frost for Christmas!

Despite the current heatwave, there’s an early forecast this Christmas for a Touch of Frost.

John Lyons who appeared as Detective Sergeant George Toolan in the long running popular ITV series A Touch of Frost will be returning to Bridlington Spa for this year’s spectacular production of the pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk; starring as the King.

John’s TV appearances are numerous, over 500, ranging from Downstairs Upstairs, Play for Today, The Sweeney, On The Buses, George and Mildred but he is more latterly known for playing Sir David Jason’s long suffering sidekick D.S. George Toolan in A Touch of Frost; which ran for almost 18 years and was regularly watched by over eight million viewers.

He will join a stellar cast including Star Trek: The Next Generation’s Marina Sirtis; who will be transporting to Bridlington to play the role of the Empathic Fairy and star of Disney’s Art Attack, Lloyd Warbey will, by popular demand, be returning to play Jack’s loveable and cheeky brother, Simon Trott.

“The inimitable John Lyons last appeared in the Bridlington Spa panto three years ago and we are delighted to have him returning to join us again this year.”, said Andrew Aldis, general manager of Bridlington Spa, “You know, I need to pinch myself when I see the star quality of our cast list this year and I hope that customers feel the same way. Close your eyes for a moment and imagine what a Star Trek and A Touch of Frost mash-up would look like – how could you resist seeing that happen?”

Tickets are on sale for Jack and the Beanstalk at bridspa.com, via the box office 01262 678258 or in person.
