Mission Christmas is again being backed by Beverley Building Society as one of the places to drop off gifts.
An incentive run by Viking FM Mission Christmas collects gifts from the public which are then distributed to disadvantaged children in our region.
Beverley Building Society has been a long-term supporter of Mission Christmas. Members of the society and the public have proved generous in recent years with the gifts they have donated.
Over the coming days, people will be able to pop into the Beverley Building Society and deposit gifts in the collection box.
Gifts are wanted are for both boys and girls from the very youngest through to 18 years old.
Beverley Building Society has a list of items that the charity deems suitable. These include items such as makeup sets, toy cars, Lego and board games.
The charity while grateful for any gifts that are donated does struggle when it comes to items for babies and teenagers.
Mission Christmas Helping Our Regions Disadvantaged Children
Anyone making donations is also asked not to wrap the gifts, this will be done by the charity and make it easier for them to sort the items.
Mission Christmas also ask anyone who donates a toy that needs batteries to include them. They say this important as families receiving the toys are likely not to be able to afford them.
Spare rolls wrapping paper is also useful to the charity. They pass this onto the people who receive the donated gifts so they can wrap up the presents.
Last year Mission Christmas was so successful they collected enough gifts to distribute to over 20,000 children in the region.
Anyone wishing to make a donation needs to do so by Tuesday 18 December. However, gifts collected after that point will be stored and used in an emergency.
You can also make a £5 donation by texting VIKING or a £10 donation by texting VIKINGTEN to 70808.
